Video: Rick Ross ft. Jay Z – Devil Is A Lie (A Film by Ashley Smith)

January 5, 2014 · Posted in covers, editorial, movies, Music, Videos · Comment

Just as when your imagination fills up to its potential, there comes along a filmmaker by the name of Ashley Smith. When the record, Devil Is A Lie by Rick Ross ft. Jay Z dropped, the social sphere began throwing their remarks about devil worshiping, illuminati, and etc. That isn’t what Ashley Smith is trying to showcase. Behind every song, you develop an imagination of what the mirror image of that record could display. This film brings such a deeper meaning to what Rozay & Hovito are spittin’.

I discovered this short film, and believe it was only right to showcase it to our readers. Probably one of the best  (if you want to make it in blog terms) “fan made” videos I have seen in a minute. Priest Hov is probably my favorite! ha!

Check out Ashley Smith’s wesbite here for more videos and his rendition of Drake’s 5 a.m. in Toronto.

J. Cole Announces New Release Date For ‘Born Sinner’

J. Cole went against his word today when he decided to announce the newest (and hopefully final) release date for his sophmore album, “Born Sinner.”

“Born Sinner” was originally set to be released on January 28 but was delayed once Cole decided that he would need more time to record. Interestingly enough, the Roc Nation rapper will now share a release date with Wale for his newest album, The Gifted.” Both Cole and the MMG MC have arguably taken their places as two of the greatest lyricists of today.
With that being said, there’s no doubt that we should expect to see a head-to-head competition when it comes to album sales for the two artists.

“Born Sinner” and Wale’s “The Gifted” are set to be released June 25.

Which one will you cop first?
