What To Expect In 2013: Albums

January 16, 2013 · Posted in editorial · 20 Comments

This time last year I was here talking about wanting to see Detox in 2012. One year later, I’m still at it after-mathematics. Although, Detox is probably the album I’m anticipating the most, this year still has lots and lots of dope albums coming out. Weezy F. will try to correct himself after a disappointing effort on Carter IV. J. Cole will try to write in his ballot into the hip-hop hall of fame, and Big Sean will prove to everybody that he’s more than a GOOD rapper. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg, so chill out G. What To Expect In 2012: Albums/Mixtapes

January 9, 2012 · Posted in news · 74 Comments

We’re already in 2012, and I still haven’t listened to all of the mixtapes that came out on 11-1-11. Last year was filled with lots of music for almost everyone’s tastes. My favorite part of the year was when The Throne just dropped their album on us, and everybody was listening to Watch The Throne at the same time. That was cray! Hopefully they follow up with a part 2. We had major albums from just about every big rapper in the game: Bad Meets Evil, Tha Carter IV, Cole World, The RED Album, Section.80, Goblin, Take Care, Rolling Papers, Finally Famous, Camp, Self Made Vol. 1, All 6’s and 7’s, TM 103, The Dreamer/ The Believer, Ambition, and undun. Damn, what a year! Seems like everybody was dropping albums except Dr. Dre. 2011 was a solid year for music, let’s see what 2012 brings.

Classic Video: Outkast – Git Up, Get Out

May 25, 2011 · Posted in Music, Videos · Comment

I needed some morning inspiration so it’s time to post up some classic Outkast.

“You need to git up, git out and git somethin, Don’t let the days of your life pass by”

From OutKast’s debut album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. The longer version featuring Goodie Mobb including a verse from the young Cee-Lo was just as good. Check out the remix after the jump.
