Album Review: Obie Trice – Bottoms Up
Bottoms Up is Obie Trice’s first studio album since 2006’s Second Round’s On Me. Bottoms Up is also Trice’s first album under his own Black Market Ent. imprint. This album has been in the works for a long long time, and it sounds like it too. Just like the cover, Obie Trice feels old, unimaginative, and scared to take risks. Although, Bottoms Up is a decent addition to his catalog, it’s not the best in his catalog. However, don’t think Bottoms Up isn’t worth a few listens, it is.
KillerHipHop Exclusive | Obie Trice Interview
In 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…Obie Trice, real name no gimmicks. That was a great way to start a song, so I figured it would also make for a great article intro. What’s better than, “Obie Trice, real name no gimmicks?” Enough of my gimmicks though, truth is we recently had the opportunity to talk to former Shady Records signee, Mr. Obie Trice.
It’s almost been 6 years since Obie’s last album, so during our exclusive interview we spoke about his new album, Bottoms Up, linking up with Eminem on “Richard”, releasing a DVD chronicling his Shady experience, his plans for B.M.E., and more. Hit the break for the full interview, cheers.
