In case you’ve yet to have the pleasure to do so, take a second and get acquainted with this creative force on the come up. The homie Tijon is an artist representing indie music at its finest. The 23 year old Queens-born, Jersey-bred emcee is making steady moves here in the states, having landed a feature in the acclaimed hip hop mag XXL along with numerous other publications; he’s also shared stages with the likes of Fabolous, J. Cole, and Big K.R.I.T. to name a few, and is the latest victor of Hot97’s showcase as determined by Peter Rosenberg, Prodigy, and producer Buda Da Future.

He recently launched a monthly video series dubbed “Mission: Statement” as a means of garnering new fans and providing them with insight into a day in the life of an indie artist on his grind. Here Tijon and his GT Apache collective present the first episode in the series entitled “Black Caddy, Dark Shades” over producer Clams Casino’s “I’m God” instrumental. Check it after the jump and let us know if you’re feeling the homie’s flow.
