Video: Game Talks ‘Jesus Piece’ Concept & Kanye West Features

October 12, 2012 · Posted in interview, news, Videos · 2 Comments

True conceptual hip-hop albums are somewhat of a rare find nowadays. But Jayceon is promising one with his next album titled Jesus Piece. Game spoke to Rap-Up about the concept behind Jesus Piece where he will explore the relationships between religion and street life.

Game also name dropped some features. Trey Songz, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne are all set to appear on Jesus Piece. One record that has riled up a lot of talk is his record with Kanye West titled “Jesus Piece.” “We spend like 25-50 grand on a Jesus piece, but then we’re reluctant to put $100 in the collection plate,” said Game when talking about the concept of the song. “We’ll talk about, we love God, but we won’t give nothin’ back,” he continued explaining.

Kanye West will probably make another feature on Jesus Piece as well. Game isn’t sure if the 2nd ‘Ye track will make the album but he says that it’s about Los Angeles and the impact it has had on rappers like 2 Pac and Biggie who both went out West before their deaths.

I really respect this. I think it is going to be a great concept, and more people need to talk about this stuff. However, what he said in the beginning is wrong. It is not Biblical or Christian to smoke blunts, or go to the strip club after. Jesus was pretty clear on adultery and how harmful it is to ourselves and others. Smoking weed is a bit trickier, but the Bible tells to ALWAYS be of sober mind. You’re not sober when you’re high. Other than those 2 things though, he was spot on. We all spend more, not only financially, but also in time, energy, sacrifice, etc, on ourselves than we do for God. SO he has a great point there and I hope this album really reaches out to people…
