“I think with Hell The SequelWatch the Throne, Drake, Nicki, Wayne, they whole camp, J. Cole, they whole camp… These guys that are lyricists are making it for lyricists to be cool again. I do think there was a time in Hip Hop where it wasn’t cool to be lyrical. Even Waka Flocka made a comment, he said, ‘I ain’t got no lyrics. Lyrics don’t make me money,'”

In a recent interview with, Royce Da 5’9, whose actual name is Ryan Montgomery, chopped it up and explained that after releasing, Hell The Sequel (Collaborated LP with Eminem), he noticed that many artists are bringing back the true meaning of lyricism into the Hip-Hop game.

Royce also explains why he believes Eminem is the best lyricist alive and what he would be doing if Eminem wasn’t around. After the jump, check out the video of the interview.
