COLE left off this? yall must be joking.

  2. NINON on February 20th, 2012 9:14 am

@sasha sarmento, Its a stupid list only based on popularity not talent. Jay & Kanye & wale only good rappers in this lame list

  3. Mark on February 20th, 2012 5:11 pm

Cant forget Meek Mill, Should be #4

  4. peanut on February 20th, 2012 9:06 pm

@NINON, its called “hottest rappers in the game” and with that being the name of the list this goes accordingly, all of these guys (and nicki) had the biggests buzzes this year

  5. sasha sarmento on February 20th, 2012 6:41 am

& wayne/nicki better than jay and wale ? we needa new round table crew who know what theyre doing cause credentials are questionable after this stunt.

  6. Mattyice on February 20th, 2012 8:27 am

    @sasha sarmento, Agreed

  7. Chris on February 20th, 2012 9:40 am

@Mattyice, idk about nicki but Wayne spot is understandable and of course he’s better than wale & jay come on yo

  8. NINON on February 20th, 2012 6:36 pm

@Chris, come on yo, wayne is overrated he sucks jay murders him wale is better than him too

  9. sasha sarmento on February 21st, 2012 8:44 am

@Chris wayne was relevant back in 08 .. its 4 years later, a prison sentence, and nothing worth listening too. put a fork in him, he’s done. let the rest of ymcmb WITHOUT his or birdman’s features try to carry the name cause he’s killing it. its like i heard once, “that moment wayne or birdman’s voice comes on and you skip to the next track.” EVERY TIME.

  10. Mattyice on February 22nd, 2012 2:46 am

@Chris, Honestly I do the same thing

WACK ASS LIST – No J Cole, Kendrick Lamar or Game. They def deserve to be there.

  26. T.p. on February 20th, 2012 6:48 am

Wale at 10 under Wiz…? For real? That itself is pretty bad… J. Cole easily should’ve Been put above AT LEAST 7 of the names listed above… Oh well… It’s MTV.

  27. MosDef on February 20th, 2012 6:49 am

Pretty sure Jersey shore helped make the list…

  28. Jimmy on February 20th, 2012 6:51 am

Why is Lil Wayne under Nicki Minaj?

  29. Grizzly on February 20th, 2012 6:52 am

3 YMCMB Artists. they won. Jay-Z after Weezy , Weezy win.
Kanye after Drake , Drake win.

Rozay had to get that title , he had to be recognized for his career.
ofc weezy or drake deserves it more , but respect to telfon don.

  30. Angel on February 20th, 2012 8:08 am

@Grizzly, it is safe to say that, you do not know The “Rap Game” very well

  31. villz on February 20th, 2012 4:20 pm

@Grizzly, They won what? They won the fact that MTV put together a shit list? If you really think a MTV list that doesnt even include Kendrick (who many people say Section.80 was a classic and easily one of the best albums of 2011) and Cole is worth something than Angel is right you dont know rap well at all.

  32. septemberveryown on February 20th, 2012 6:56 am

@edison, I fucks with this list

  38. daniel kelly on February 20th, 2012 7:21 am

I think maybe what we are all mis ready is the part that said ”hottest”. it doesnt say THE BEST IN THE GAME does it ? this is a list of all the people whos careers were good this year like look at what wiz has achieved and same with wale big sean and rick ross all of them were and still are hard on their grind I know kendrick, cole etc are too but what there doing didnt get them noticed as much as wiz etc. all the small efforts that nobody sees is what got all of these people on this list, not because of their rhymin and lyrical skills. if this list was to be best lyrical and big krit would be top for me because his track the vent has such an impact on me everytime I play it. then i guess j cole would be next cause his track lights out was just too good. kendrick lamar next, if u havent heard look out for detox yet go check that out now. mac miller because every track he gets on he spits with that amazing flow old schoolness in his blood. curren$y should be on this 2012 list because he puts in serious hard work in ways that people wouldnt understand and probably never will for spitta is a smart intellecutal, not for the everyday commercial radio listening type probably the reason why hes not on this cause he would be at the tip top.yelawolf cause hes a raw red neck who still spits about the wreckless even tho hes signed to shady and the reason he can still spit that real stuff is cause thats the type of mentality he has on an everyday basis even tho you would think fame would kick all those bad thoughts out of your head and only think abouts money, cars, clothes and hoes. iv loved wiz from when he had about 10,000 twitter followers he now currently has 4.5 mill I idolised him for what he was doin and I can honestly sadly say that I do not anymore because he just raps the same raps in different words with no meaning i know he wrote the letter to the taylors to say that he has to be the way he is cause of the lifestyle he has supermodel woman etc rap comes from the heart and soul which means you rao about what your actually doing. go and listen to wiz khalifa your gonna love me and the difference is mind boggling but i still respect him for bein true to himself and not writing bulls**t fake raps. the moral to this story is that main stream publicity actually ruins all our good rappers so the less publicity kendrick lamar,j cole etc get the better. if your a smart individual and are passionate about hip hop then you will more than understand me what I am saying.

  39. Rocks on February 20th, 2012 8:33 am

@daniel kelly, Damn, nigga typed a story lol. Didn’t read it but Ross doesn’t deserve #1 !!!

  40. 2 on February 20th, 2012 2:56 pm

@daniel kelly, *rap comes from the heart and soul*

  41. RS on February 20th, 2012 7:39 am

Ross’s album or his crew’s don’t come up on any top 10 albums of 2011 list so how is he the hottest MC in the game?

Guess he paid MTV a few million.

No wonder hip hops in the state its in, Slaughterhouse/Good music gona rescue it this year hopefully.

  42. Youngin on February 20th, 2012 4:32 pm

@RS, What weed are u on?? Ross was featured in the HOTTEST songs of 2011 bru that nigga had a good year,I’m not saying he deserves to be number one but the nigga deserves to be on this list _ FUCK YOU

  43. AK on February 20th, 2012 7:56 am

wack list. no j cole, k dot, yelawolf, slaughterhouse? what do they base the “HOTTEST MC IN THE GAME 2011” off of?

  44. chief on February 20th, 2012 8:03 am

    it shouldv’e been drake #teamovoxo

  45. Intro on February 20th, 2012 8:16 am

    idgaf

Kendick Lamar is the best! He would murder every single one of them with his word play

They just up there because of sales & publicity

  46. Towaway on February 20th, 2012 8:38 am

… Are you serious? MUSIC Television says this? Smh

  47. Blake on February 20th, 2012 9:02 am

    What the fuck.

No J. Cole? I’m sorry but Tha Carter 4 can suck on Cole World: The Sideline Story’s nuts.

No Game? The R.E.D Album was HAM. Rozay doesn’t even rap about real stuff.

No Bad Meets Evil? For a 9 track (11 if you got the deluxe edition) album this was some of the rawest stuff I’ve ever heard. Royce and Em? Killed it. No one else on that list is as lyrically gifted as those two guys.

    Without further notice,
Fuck you MTV. You got it ALL wrong.

  48. kbrian on February 20th, 2012 9:23 am

    @Blake,

i don’t need to say anything, you said it all for me.

    J. Cole should’ve definitely been on that list. Top 10, but below 5. He even has workout and can’t get enough on the radio. He’s a true underdog that aspired to where he’s at now, and is a key component to proving the music industry wrong. He’s making lyricism cool again.

    K. Dot is the ultimate underdog. Section 80 was amazing. Overly Dedicated was cool, too. Murdered Game on his own track. However, no radio play = no MTV list.

Eminem and Royce killed with B.M.E., but with the Young Money Mainstream is just too much, perhaps.

Lil Wayne deserves to be on there, I don’t even really like Weezy anymore. But 950k first week must account for something.

Drake should be taken down a notch on the list. Is he a good MC? Definitely. But how much of an MC can you be when half of your albums is R&B. He can be on #1 on top 10 Hottest Hip Hop artist, but definitely not for MC.

WTT was cool, ye and jay definitely deserve to be on there. Niggas in Paris is seriously everywhere.

    Wale > Big Sean

IDK how Rozay got first. Just my opinion, but I enjoy Ross as a feature, but I can’t deal with a full song of his.

Eh, these lists have always been a bit skeptical.

    Mine:

    1. Black Thought & The Roots
    2. Shady 2.0
    3. Kanye West
