Recap: The One Day Show With Special Guest She Is Ryan
As they do every week, the One Day Show presented by Scholarich Music Group & KillerHipHop.com came prepared with the cure for your Monday blues.
DJ Eric Kidd, TheLady Lana and MarXman hosted an evening packed with laughs, hip hop debates, music by DJ Rod-A, and an interview with our ambitious, gorgeous guest, rapper/singer/model/actress She Is Ryan.
Check out the full show below, hit the jump for a recap of the evening’s festivities, and make sure to tune in next Monday from 8-10pm EST on GIDradio.com as they host, Skyzoo, Eddie B and the creators of Trap Life Apparel.
DJ Eric Kidd, TheLady Lana and MarXman kicked off the evening with a roundtable discussion on the week-old-but-still-relevant “Control” controversy. In the aftermath of Kendrick’s murderous verse, DJ Eric Kidd compiled a mixtape of all the responses thus far, so make sure you head over to scholarich.com/ek to take a listen.
This discussion was a flawless transition into MarXman’s X-Factor segment, during which he behooved rappers on the rise – especially those clappin back at Kendirck – to make sure they have stability in their careers before making an attempt to slay anyone in battle (rap).
Lana addressed Lindsay Lohan’s confessions to Oprah in their recent televised sitdown during “Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That.” For someone who spent six stints in rehab, her alleging that she used cocaine but 10-15 times is a little … skeptical.
Then, of course, we listened to DJ Eric Kidd’s picks this week for the Playground Countdown throughout the course of the show.
In the second hour, the crew was blessed with the presence of a fly, tatted lady who goes by the name of She Is Ryan, aka SIR. The Brooklyn beauty currently sporting multi-colored hair graced the station with her infectious energy, setting the tone for a playful, yet informative Q&A session.
Upon asking the actress/model/rapper/singer from the Bush how she does it all, she schooled us on her 3-P key to success in all of her endeavors: positivity, patience, and progression.
SIR also shed light on her apprenticeship at a tattoo shop, her admiration of Kelis, growing up in Brooklyn, and how she turned an insecurity into her brand.
Keep your eyes on this fierce, fearless female, and check back with us for the release of her fall-anticipated project simply entitled SIR.
