R. Kelly Crowns Chris Brown The New King Of R&B

September 17, 2011 · Posted in news · 22 Comments

Chicago’s “Tony Sculfield & The Morning Riot” recently caught up with R. Kelly and asked him who was the new king of RnB. Kelly said,

Trey Songz is a guy that if he keeps with the hits and he humbles himself a little more, he will definitely be one of the runner-ups, Chris Brown is already there. He’s a humble guy. Chris Brown used to come to my studio when he was 13, 14, 15 and 16. I got the utmost respect for Chris Brown. My hat goes off to him because he got in the studio, he did what he was supposed to do, and he bounced back like round ball.”

What do you guys think? Who’s the heir to R. Kelly’s throne?

Check out the audio of the interview after the jump where he speaks on travelling to Africa, speaks on his new project and his beef/ steak with Trey Songz.

    F**k Trey Songz. He can’t sing, carries no talent & overrated. R&B is so pitiful today for Trey Songz to be seen as one of the elites.

    Breezy is a star to go down as a future legend. He just needs to stop rappin & stick to singin.

    I agree… Trey’s cockiness keeps me away from being a fan of his work. Chris Brown’s a hard worker. He puts out amazing music; love it!

    right now chris brown; 3 years from now… frank ocean

    @Dfinity, I agree, but only if he gets on point with his lyrics.

    Dfinity Reply:

    @TooPhenomenal, i got nostalgia, ultra being better than anything breezy ever put out. the only reason he wins right now is because he’s been relevant for longer. soon as ocean puts in some more work, and shows progression, the crown is his.

    TooPhenomenal Reply:

    @Dfinity, True dat bro

    I like Frank Ocean,he’s a good artist but doesn’t have what it takes to sell out arenas or even just make it in the top 50 on billboard charts.

    The thing that seperates breezy from all R&B is his amazing dances,Creativity,& unperfect image for being love by everyone & hated on by everyone.

    Plus Everyone even your parents know who is Chris Brown = a household name.

    Frank Ocean is doing his thig, but ya can’t sleep The Weeknd also.. His whole mixtape was fire aswell.. Dude got mad potential, so it would be a close race between Frank Ocean and The Weeknd..
