News: Trey Songz Scores #1 Debut; Khaled Comes In At #4

August 29, 2012 · Posted in news · 1 Comment

Last week, 2 Chainz nabbed his first #1 album. Today, Trey Songz takes the top spot for the first time as well. It took Trey V tries, but he finally got it done. According to official Soundscan numbers, Trey sold 135,000 copies in his first week. Although it grabbed the number 1 spot, Trey’s previous album, Passion, Pain & Pleasure, outsold Chapter V by more than 100,000 copies. That album debuted at #2.

Dj Khaled’s Kiss The Ring debuted at #4 this week making it Khaled’s 4th top 10 album. Khaled sold a tad bit more than expect with 41,000 copies. Earlier projections had him at 35K-40K. Much like Trey Songz, Khaled’s previous album outsold Kiss The Ring but it failed to rank higher. We The Best Forever sold 53,000 copies, but it debuted at #5.

2 Chainz’ Based On A T.R.U. Story stayed strong this week as it only slipped 1 spot. It went from 1 to 2 selling 48,000 copies.

Rozay’s God Forgives, I Don’t remained in the top 10 this week falling to number 8 with 28,000 copies sold during the week.

Trey Sold only sold 135,000 copies. The ladies must not be feeling his as much in addition this album wasn’t that R&B compared to his last album P3 which was way better.

DJ Khaled should only drop singles and stop making albums.
