News: ‘Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City’ First Week Sales Projections
Kendrick Lamar’s debut album, Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City, is expected to sell over 200,000 copies in its first week of sales. If the numbers hold up, GKMC will have the 2nd biggest opening week for a hip-hop album, only behind Ross’ God Forgives, I Don’t which sold about 225K in its 1st week. Unfortunately, Lamar will not top the chart. Taylor Swift’s Red is expected to easily surpass a million sales.
Lamar recently spoke about the pressure of living up to the hype. “It’s really no pressure because when I first came in the game and started writing, I always wanted to be the best,” he told Dj Buck. “I never wanted to be number two.”

I’m excited that Kendrick is going to sell over 200,000 copies but I’m mad at his label for dropping it the same week as Taylor Swift’s album. No one gets a #1 album in the country for a couple of weeks when she drops.
Meek Mill is next week and she’ll also going to destroy his debut album from being #1 too.hahahaha.
Who cares about the #1, all I care for is quality, and he delivered. Glad to see him perform here in feb 2013.
@ Killerhiphop, where the lyrics at? 😀
Hiiipower!! Kendrick most def delivers. People should be greatful for all the real music…
