I honestly constantly get confused what Nelly has been doing for years, what made his first 2 albums so good was they were so unique to him, had his own style, and i feel like ever since, with a few exceptions here in there in terms of certain tracks, he keeps trying to emulate what’s “hot” at that current time, and it always comes off as him trying too hard to be relevant. As opposed to him simply doing what he does best and living with the results, which despite how much he apparently fears the results, it seems I’m not an exception when it comes to wanting him to go back to his roots, seems like it’d be universally liked if he did indeed go back and do his thing.
