@John, if number don’t lie Eminem, is the best rapper of all time, eminem is a genius and ill love his music till the day i die but his last album i found, was very main stream, i know he’s off drugs and had to learn how to rap again but its just not the same shady. lil wayne is a sick rapper, auto-tune and sizzurp ruined him tho. i have his entire discography and the carter 4 doesn’t even fit in, he fell off on this one

@MosDef, i agree with u bruh weezy could sell 1 billion copies on one week but he aint the best, he dont even know how to freestyle shit he dont even write his songs. all he does is say the same shit over and over but i guess 1 million people think thats hip hop,

Only good songs on this shitty album were Interlude and Outro, and thats cuz wayne didnt rap on them!

WOW, that carter iv wasn’t no where near the best in the series and it sold well. Hip hop taking over tho. Wiz album did gud, Lupe Album did gud, Eminem, Royce da 5’9, Jay-Z, Kanye West, The Game, and Big Sean did gud as well. And they said Hip Hop is dead. J.Cole, Young Jeezy, and Drake, still have their album to come. Can’t wait to hear them and see the sales as well.

Let lil Wayne have his 15 min of first week sales fame cuz in the longrun he hasn’t sold not even 20 mil total albums worldwide out of all the albums he has. First week sales dont mean anything. Just hype and large fan base with lots of supporters. Me? I’m not that big of a Lil Wayne fan, but admit he has his moments. C4 was a disappointment to me. Beats, flow, no drake verse, throughout certain verses the lyrics are bland, etc. Drake is better than this clown tbh. I mean let’s be honest Drake sold like 3m+ already worldwide on thank me later in just one year and Wayne has like 10 albums. By the time he releases his 10th album, it’ll prob be 8m+, excluding the other albums he’ll release

    [Reply]

    Kog Reply:

@M&R, u know Lil Wayne has sold over 30.5 million records worldwide right? not counting that carter iv.I agree with the album not being that gud. But calling him a clown? Drake is better than him you right about that. But get some of your facts straight tho.

Wow i’m a true hip hop head. I listen to Nas, 2Pac, BTNH, Lupe, Jay, J. Cole, B.I.G., Kanye, Wu-Tang, Kendrick Lamar and more, and i do give everyone a chance and listen. My biggest pleasure is complex lyricism and emotion in rap. Eminem is best at merging both cause his music is so honest, brutal, personal and his rhyme scheme is mind blowing. 2Pac is my favorite cause his music is just so raw and poetic just that his only flaw was the thug life he lived and died by. I’ve heard Lil Wayne since “Tha Block is Hot” , stupid southern rap, when everyone around me “discovered” him after “Lollipop” (which i HATE btw) and i dropped in on him every now and then but when i heard “Tha Carter II” i felt like this guy is someone i can i now brag about being the better type rapper around at the time. He had gained lyrical skill out of nowhere and his mixtapes were spitfire and then people started dickriding the fck out him cause of the singles off “Tha Carter III” and took it as his sellout and peak…but woah. His music has become shittier but this dude’s momentum doesn’t go away. Props for that even though i don’t consider him hip hop or nowhere near the best rapper alive. I still can’t understand how people don’t realize how lame his music, raps, and image is. But whatever he does seems to work

Tha Carter 4 sold 964,000 1st week. You know Birdman brought at least 510,000-525,000 copies just to make it guaranteed platinum. Ha Ha !

I defintiely didn’t buy this trash. Actually, I never had brought a Lil Wayne album.

I must say, Lil Wayne’s fans are die hard. That is an impressive first week number given how the music industry has changed. However this album was pretty lackluster. Well unless you’re a fan of non-stop punchlines.

SN: It had way too many different producers. Didn’t have the cohesion an album should have. It felt like a mixtape.

ok i give lil wayne his credit his in my top 6 rappers his place in that would b at 4 but i dont think he deserve alll this glory of being the best rapper alive the number 1 rapper is 2 pac then B. I. G. even though there r ddead there still number 1 . with that being said now he don ‘t deserve the credit because he don’t mean s hit or live up to the s hit he raps about for and example and i quote i f uck around a leave a n igga brain in da street . that n igga never shot any body his whole life so thats a lie . He has no street creds here is another quote from his recent album boy i send them bloodz up ur a ss like a tampod. question wat bloods? i never see him hangin with no reall bloods when did u ever see a show were he had some bloods with him. this is wats wrong with rappers know of days they claim gangs that they never even been in thats why tupac i certified as being the best rapper because he rap about the s hit he did and u herd about the only true true rappers of 2011 is young jeezy

Lil Wayne is doing what he knows best, with the best he’s got. Yeah numbers don’t lie!
Wezzy reinvented himself and still till this year (2011) is still #1. Hes been in jail and yet, he’s back in his same spot along with his young money army, his family. It’s proven and shown that wezzy has believes and dreams. It’s all the radio, web, radios etc… Young money was put together the right way with the right individuals that planned out there success.
