The 2012 Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) Awards took place Friday, September 7th in Los Angeles to celebrate the creation of music.

Drake and Lil Wayne shared Songwriter of the Year.  This is the second year in a row that Drake has won the title, whose top songs include “Aston Martin Music,” “Headlines,” “Moment 4 Life,” and “What’s My Name?,” as well as “Right Above It,” “I’m On One” and “She Will,” which he co-wrote with Lil Wayne.  Young Money member Nicki Minaj also was awarded Song of the Year for her hit single “Superbass.”

Mac Miller won his first-ever BMI Social Star Award, presented by Spotify.  This award honors the BMI urban songwriter who best uses the power of social media to engage fans and to showcase their songwriting talents.

Mac and Drale should collab, but using their lyrical skills at 100%
    That would be really dope!

Songwriter of the year for Lil Wayne, are you fucking joking? I could name so many artists who could have one. Not even a mention of Kendrick Lamar?
