Top 8 Hip Hop Sites You Need to Check Out

This is a list of the top 8 Hip Hop sites you need to check out.

Now I saw the list of Vibes top 50 hip hop blogs and was left bemused like everyone else with some of their choices. Maybe Vibe doesn’t really know what a blog is as some of the sites on the list were clearly not blogs although they are good sites.

That list inspired me to write my own list of hip hop sites which I regularly visit. These sites are the first with breaking news and content which millions of other sites and blogs aggregate content from.

1. Thisis50

Video hip hop blog run by 50 cent. It has some of the latest news and videos from the Shady, G-unit, Aftermath labels. This site revolves around 50 cent, Eminem and G-unit and is clearly biased however it is still a great overall hip hop blog. The site has a strong following despite the busy homepage and provides breaking news when it happens. They also provide hip hop gossip, music videos, and the latest songs.

2. Vladtv

Vladtv.com is like the TMZ of Hip Hop focusing on videos. Close competitor with WorldstarHiphop. They provide entertaining videos including hip hop videos, comedy clips, sick fights and freestyles. One of the first with the latest hip hop video’s you can waste a lot of time on this site.

3. Hiphopdx

All round hip hop site. They are considered a hip hop, RnB, lifestyle magazine. They always provide the latest tracks and one of the best things about the site is that they provide the latest mixtapes which you can listen to for free. You can also download some of the mixtapes completely free.

4. Allhiphop

One of the main competitors to HiphopDx and very similar in look and feel. They provide good reviews of the latest albums and interesting articles. They have a buzzing forum in their illcommunity with interesting discussions about the world of Hip Hop.

5. Nahright

Number one hip hop blog around according to Vibe Magazine and they are probably right. Firstly they got it right as it is a blog. Secondly Eskay knows what he is talking about and it has been around a long time. He writes some interesting blog posts and this site is worth a visit.

6. WorldstarHiphop

They call themselves the “CNN of Urban Media”. They are basically the Hip Hop Youtube along with VladTV. This should be higher up on the list but recently they have uploaded some questionable videos such the video of a mother committing suicide in front of her son. This video went up  close to mothers day and was extremely devastating to watch. No one should have to witness that.

Worldstarhiphop still provides some video gems and their series “Being Charlie Sloth” is a great weekly show which consistently gets over half a million views. Worldstarhiphop keep it hip hop!

7. Jumpoff.tv

This is a hip hop sports entertainment channel. They provide video’s of freestyle battles, dance-offs as well as the Friday Hip Hop Report which gets 50K views a week and is syndicated on numerous sites including Allhiphop, datpiff and 5-star hiphop.

8. ProHiphop

Hip Hop business and hip hop marketing blog. ProHiphop provides coverage of the music business as a whole and provides info on artists and the latest developments in the industry.
