Throwback Tuesday: Waterfalls – TLC
Now I know all you hardcore hip-hop heads out there have got to have a softer side. Well, I sure hope so or I’m going to feel super awkward. BUT, I do think that this is definitely an exception to any sort of “masculinity” questions one may have by listening to this song alone on a rainy day. Not that I’m…uh…currently doing that now or anything. This song is a classic though. I remember being like 5 years old having this song on cassette. Side A was the full track. Side B was just the instrumental. The touching message put together ever-so smoothly over this classic 90′s beat is mesmerizing to this day. Can’t forget the unforgettable verse laid down by Miss Lisa “Lefteye” Lopes. “I seen a rainbow yesterday, but too many storms have come and gone leavin’ a trace of not one God-given ray.” Well Lisa, that is false. You are that God-given ray.
