Kendrick Lamar took the top spot on MTV‘s annual Hottest MC In The Game list. 2 Chainz came runner up with Drake in at number 5.
K-Dot earned the #1 spot in a unanimous decision, while 2 Chainz landed in the #2 slot. While both MCs made indelible marks in the last year, it was Kendrick’s artistry and commercial appeal that helped him earn the title.

Maybach Music founder Rozay had a storming year thanks to his MMG collabo Self Made Vol 1 and his mixtape Rich Forever. Drizzy came in second with Kanye West third.

As we close out the year 2011, and we look back on the albums that came out this year, we realize it was a great year for music. Some new faces made their debuts, while some of the more familiar ones released more quality music. Too soon to call any of them a classic, we’ll just settle with listing them in order.
