Got $75 million handy? If so, you can sign T.I. to your label … the hip hop star just became the number-one free agent in rap — and despite the steep price tag he’s putting out … some deep pockets are already lining up. Sources close to T.I. tell TMZ … T.I.’s 10-year contract with Atlantic ran up only a month ago … but he’s already put together his own idea of a $75 million deal: – 3 albums – 10-20 percent of publishing, touring, merchandise, film and TV rights – Corporate endorsement deals – Exclusive signing of all Grand Hustle artists (TMZ)
As of now, there is reportedly $50 Million waiting for Tip along with interest from Dr. Dre and Jay-Z on the table.
Sources close to T.I. tell TMZ … he’s already met with some of the industry’s biggest names … including Dr. Dre, who asked him to join Interscope over dinner at Katana recently … and Jay-Z, who wants T.I. in the RocNation family. We’re told Sony’s put a $50 million deal on the table so far … and Universal’s meeting with him later this week to make an offer too. (TMZ)
Who will the King of the South sign with?
This time last year I was here talking about wanting to see Detox in 2012. One year later, I’m still at it after-mathematics. Although, Detox is probably the album I’m anticipating the most, this year still has lots and lots of dope albums coming out. Weezy F. will try to correct himself after a disappointing effort on Carter IV. J. Cole will try to write in his ballot into the hip-hop hall of fame, and Big Sean will prove to everybody that he’s more than a GOOD rapper. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg, so chill out G. There’s more after the break.
Ricky Rozay performed live at club Marquee inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas for the Beats By Dre CES after party. Features a cameo from Dr Dre. Directed by Jon J.
Despite not releasing an album in over a decade, Dr. Dre takes the #1 spot in Forbes‘ Highest-Paid Musicians 2012 List. The super-producer surpasses rock star legends, pop artists and fellow rappers.
The 47-year-old hip-hop mogul earned $110 million based largely on his highly popular Beats by Dr. Dre headphones line. He took in a reported $100 million pretax when handset maker HTC paid $300 million for a 51 percent stake in the company last year – big bucks!!! He and his partners later bought back half of what they sold.
Also on the list are Rihanna at#12 making $53 million, Diddy tied with Katy Perry at #15 making $45 million and Beyonce and Jay-Z shortly after. Check out the complete list below.

Is it possible to have too much talent in one room? If so, I nominate this video for the title? Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, and Andre 3000 were recently in the same studio together. In the clip above released by Rolling Stone, Lamar plays “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” for Andre 3000 and Dr. Dre. The track is from Kendrick’s debut album, Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City, dropping next Tuesday October 22nd. Hopefully the trio also worked on some music.
