The idea of documenting the behind-the-scenes of what really goes on in Hip-Hop and the music industry is very interesting. N.O.R.E. and Geno Sims took that idea and started filming. What you see in this video is NSFW but surely gives you an eye opening of real behind-the-scenes life of a famous rapper during the late 90s/early 00s.
There’s random bits of Big Pun, KRS One, Eminem making crank calls, Snoop Dogg at his most misogynistic, a chubby 50 Cent coveting NORE’s then-new Skytel 2-way pager…There’s Jay-Z and Amil, Capone in prison, De La Soul….and at the 2:25 mark, we see Cam’ron shopping his new 17-year-old artist Juelz Santana to Chris Lighty (RIP) and his staff. Video: DMX – My First: Childbirth
“I don’t give a f*ck what anybody says. Babies are f*ckin’ ugly when they’re born,” says DMX. For most fathers, witnessing their first child’s birth is a beautiful experience. For DMX, it was kind of gross. “I looked, I said, f*ck are you serious. I waited 9 months for this? He was gray with peeling skin and stuff all over him,” he recently told The Boombox during one of their “Firsts.”
All jokes aside, DMX, father of 10 children, told The Boombox that he cares about all of his kids. “They just make me want to not go to jail,” he said. “Makes me want to spend more time with them. I realize like I have to be a very influential part of their life.”
