Classic Kanye West Interview Before His Car Crash in 2002

February 24, 2010 · Posted in documentary, interview, Videos · 4 Comments

This is a classic interview by DJ Whoo Kid with Kanye West right before his car crash in October 2002.

“What if a n-gga from the Chi that was ill, got a deal on the hottest rap label around!”

Kanye talks about working with Jay-Z and being on stage with him when they announced his Roc-a-fella signing.

Kanye West also mentioned another car crash in which he flipped his car 3 times but managed to walk away unharmed. Moral of the story – Don’t get in a car if Kanye’s driving!

Kanye West also drops an Acapella freestyle which is an early version of verse 2 from “Through The Wire“.

What do you think of the early Kanye?
