On the eve of “Cole World: The Sideline Story” release date, Complex.com got their in-house writer, Damien Scott, (who was also Jermaine’s college friend & roommate) to talk about Cole’s struggles . The article talks about how the stardom of J. Cole came about in a dorm room in St. John’s University in Queens to being the first artist signed to Roc-Nation. It’s a great article, I recommend J. Cole fans to read it.

J. Cole Names Favorite Songs From ‘Cole World: The Sideline Story’

September 12, 2011 · Posted in interview, Music, upcoming · 1 Comment

“I [also have] a song I got called ‘Cole World,'” J. Cole reveals. “The breakdown to me is my favorite because it’s super personal, super emotional. I made the song and even now when I listen to it I feel like, ‘Wow!’ I feel like I went on a ride of emotions, so those are my favorites as of right now.”

Fayetteville’s native, J. Cole has come from a long road of let downs, triumph, but certainly success under his belt. With the release of his highly anticipated debut album, “Cole World: The Sideline Story“, J. Cole talks to The BoomBox about which tracks are his favorite coming off  of the album.

There’s another song that he’s assured will be a hit across the board. That song is “Mr. Nice Watch” featuring his boss, Jay-Z. “I know the reaction to that’s gonna be crazy [when they hear this song].” says J. Cole. In the quote above, Cole talks about a song that is assured to show a different side of him. The song is called, “Cole World“.

Seems like we have to be on the look out for those two tracks. Mr. Cole also has Missy Elliot and Trey Songz as features on the album. This album just might be a classic by the way Cole described his favorite tracks.
