    Everyone here has no music sense what so ever! Yes clearly Mariah has sold 100 million albums worldwide that makes her top selling female of alltime bravo but……that been since 1990! Em has sold 80 million WW AND THAT’S BEEN SINCE ’99 do the math he’s gain more popularity than mariah! What took mariah 20 years took em less than 6 seeing as in his new album just came out! So before anyone on this bullshit site tries to compare mariah carey to eminem needs to get it straight….no doubt MC is talented but accept the fact ems fan base is much wider and stronger also the whole line about em poppin lol do none of you remember mariah have a “breakdown” a few years back yeah let’s say uh she was “poppin” and nick cannon do get me started on this chump what has he done since he’s been with MC….nothing so who’s money do you think he is using

    Normally I don’t approve comments that have bad language in it (bullsh*t site???) however I felt that you made some valid points. I agree with you on some things including Eminem selling a lot of records in a shorter time.

    I am also an Eminem fan and MC clearly has talent. I didn’t say anything bad about either Em or MC and therefore it didn’t warrant that slight jibe? Maybe you meant to direct it at other people. Keep it clean and it’s all good though. Feel free to drop more comments. I love to hear what everyone thinks.

    First of all eminem started his career in 1996, He came out with an album called infinite which sold 1,000 copies.. Mariahs first album sold 15 million..

    Second of all mariah has sold over 200 million albums and she did this in 19 years.
    Eminem has sold 80 million albums in 13 year.
    200 mil / 19 yrs= 10.5 mil per year
    80 mil/ 13 yrs= 6.1 mil per year

    PS. Britney spears has sold 85 million since 99′ who thinks shes talented?. Just coz eminem has sold 80 mil doesnt mean hes talented he gained fame by making fun of other artists.. Where mariah sold albums based on her voice.

    Shes gone down in history breaking records, even her own.. Mariah carey is on par with Elvis, Michael jackson and The beatles… NO COMPARISSON..

    ok, the number of albums sold and talent have nothing to do with each other, well at least to me.

    i’m a mariah fan but i’m tired of reading comments about who sold more than who etc… when you go watch a video on youtube, the only thing “fans” can comment on is “mariah is the best she sold 170 million record”. well that’s certainly impressive but even if she had sold 10 million records worldwide, she still would easily be one of the best singers ever.

    as for eminem, i’ve never really liked his work but i do appreciate the fact he does it all and i acknowlege his talent for freestyling and stuff. i think everybody needs to respect ALL artists however hard you hate their music. if a friend of yours made music and you didn’t like it, would you constantly criticize or encourage him to pursue his projects?!?

    wake up people!!! it’s not that deep of a problem if mariah never gets a #1 record again as long as she enjoys making music and we, fans, enjoy listening to it.

    to me, sh’ell always be my favorite singer and after 20 years, i think there’s a reason she’s still around and it’s not because of her short dresses. but my point is there are hundreds of singers/rappers out there who are soooo talented and don’t have the exposure they deserve in spite of a raw talent. look for Lisa Fischer on youtube for example, one of the best voices in music history and yet she’s “just” a background singer. please remember music should be all about MUSIC and not who sold what.

    I have been listening to Mariah Carey for quite a number of years now…precisely 13 years or so…give or take. and I will admit that although i am one of her biggest fans, non of her new albums will ever compare with her old ones. but this is true with most recording artists….look at Michael Jackson for instance, Thriller was his best selling album and non of his other albums ever got to the level that thriller did on the billboard charts. however, that doesnt make mariah carey or michael Jackson untalented…because i know for a fact that Mariah Carey has been through alot and has re-invented herself time after time. what other female artist at her age has done this? i cant think of any. well any that are worth mentioning at least. I have never liked Eminem…actually he sucks. the only thing he is good at, is talking shit in his songs. people who are insecure with themselves love listening to Eminem because they are mad at the world and his music makes them feel good. Mariah on the other hand, has all types of fans and we all love her because she is not only original but her songs are so meaningful and deep. especially her older albums. but artists always have to go through transitions and recently, the music industry hasn’t been what it used to be. people are listening to ridiculous songs with no meaning….HALLE BERRY song for instance …is this what our music has come to ? how sad…
    all i can say is that no matter what people say about Mariah, i will always love her and her music and will continue to support her in all ways possible!! she inspired me to sing and to conquer my fears through her songs. no one will understand unless they listein to her older stuff….she is definitely a legend!!!!

    Personally, i am a fan of Mariah Carey but i’m not going to disrespect Eminem because he has accomplished a lot in his time and the fact he produces all his work is showing us that he is extremely talented.

    However, Eminem, for me, always seems to be criticising someone in his songs, whether that be his mother or Mariah Carey. Yes, he may have had a box office hit and many records sold worldwide which is currently at about 75-80 million, i just don’t see the appeal to his music. Eminem is the biggest selling rap artist of all time, 2 #1 hits in the US and plenty more worldwide, 9 Grammys and his two biggest selling albums both sold 20 million copies and i’m not going to undermine him or his accomplishments just incase people who support Eminem think i’m criticising him, it’s just my opinion.

    Mariah Carey though can give you up-tempo, ballads, urban, R&B, pop etc. She is versatile and her music has helped people throughout their turmoil and also, her music is lyrically uplifting. She has won 5 Grammys, 18 #1 hits in the US, more than any other solo artist and 200 million albums is a little excessive. I would put her sales at 180 million which isn’t including her single sales. These sales have be speculated a lot but it’s somewhere in the region of 45-55 million worldwide. For people who can’t do mathematics, that is 225-235 million records worldwide. She is considered as the World’s Biggest Selling Female Artist and even if people believe Madonna is she is the second biggest which is an amazing achievement. Mariah’s two biggest selling albums “Music Box” (30 million, which is what she said in an interview) and Daydream (22-25 million). Her voice has a 5 octave vocal range, transcending into the whistle register and her highest note in “Emotions” was, i believe, a G7.

    Mariah Carey: 225-235 million records.
    Eminem : 80 million records.
    Although sales shouldn’t mean much, the sales difference is too far apart to not actually make clear to everyone who is discussing the Mariah/Eminem relationship feud.

    So people will obviously choose sides and voice their opinions but i believe they are both superstars in their own respects but i think Mariah has that special quality that many “pop stars” (which are ruining the music as we know it) yearn for.

    You can’t really compare MC to Em, cuz she’s R&B and he’s a rap & hiphop singer. If u compared them to people who have the same genre of music as them.. then it would make any sense.
    I like both songs & artists but the whole feud is really immature and stupid – whoever ends it first is the smart 1!

    Lambs can throw garbage in Christina, Ciara, Jordin Sparks cause everyone know Madonna has more certified platinum according to RIAA.
