Jay-Z – Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour) Lyrics [ft Bono, The Edge, Rihanna]
[Jay-Z - Chorus]
When the sky falls and the Earth quakes
We gon put this back together
We won’t break
[repeat]
[Jay-Z]
Sak Pase, my Port-Au-Princes
my Haitian Gods and all of my Princesses
Our condolences as you fightin’ against this
we’re right by your side while we tryin’ to make sense of this
heavenly father help us see through these problems
and for those that’s left, accept them into your garden
so here’s my theory, the country’s already starvin’
so we sacrificed many to shed light on all of them
God please pardon, I speak from the heart
its the only way I see this tragedy befall on them
so lets get involved with them, hand to hand with them
arm to arm with them til they get strong again,
When the sky falls…
(Rihanna and Bono – hook)
Can’t wait until tomorrow
Haiti a Mi Amor
Haiti, Mon Amour
Not gonna leave you stranded, alone, alone
oh no
[Chorus]
[Jay-Z Verse 2]
Learn from the past, New Orleans was flooded
So we know we just can’t rely on the government
We under the rubble again, here we go rumbling when
When we gon catch a break, my friend lost his mother and then
And then, Carline lost her uncles and them
Buried with no caskets, they just put covers on them
lyrics courtesy of killerhiphop.com
And the tears fall, and we fight back
Story ain’t done, it can’t end like that
Nah not like this, tomorrow’s survivors gonna carry on your name
You live on inside us, your memory’s alive with us
You inspired us, to rebuild this country, you just guide us
[Hook]
[Bono]
It’s not the angels that are on their way
its not the bells of Santa Trinite
the people waiting in positions vacant
for hands to help not just to pray
[Hook]
[French singing]
Haïti va s’élever
Tu vas te relever
Nous nous éléverons
Ensemble ensemble ensemble
(not gonna leave you stranded…)
[Jay-Z]
we gon put this back together we wont break
we gon put this back together we wont break
we gon put this back together we wont break
we gon put this back together we wont break
[End]
These lyrics are from the studio version of the Stranded – Haiti Mon Amour.
Jay-Z uses slightly different words during the live performance then on the finished track.

@admin,
First its Amor which is in spanish. Bono says Hatianna…and she says Hatia which is creole and spanish. then she says it in french. so the first is Hatia mi amor. the second is Hatii mon amour.

@Lucia, Is it not ‘Haiti ami(e) amour’ (Haiti, friend, love)?
Thanks for posting these lyrics.
I’ve listened to this about 22 times now and here’s a few additions to some of the missing lyrics.
my Haitian Gods and all of my Princesses
Its not the angels that around the way ( Actually: It’s not the angels that are on their way)
its not the (insert: bells of Saint Trinity)
the people waiting, position (insert: faking)
for hands to help, (insert: not just to pray)

(…. Port-au-Princes), my Gods and all my Princesses

one more correction:
Jay-Z starts his first verse saying “Sak Pasé” in Creole.

@Carlos Alonso, Thanks Carlos, I see. Appreciate your help with that Creole. Lyrics Updated!

The first line you’re missing where you currently have a question mark is:
“Sa pa se, my Port-au-Princes”
which is followed by “my Haitian Gods and all of my Princesses”

The correct lyrics of Jay.
[Chorus]
When the sky falls, and the earth quakes
We gon put this back together, we won’t break
(Repeat)
[Verse 1]
Sa pa se, my Port-au-Princes
My Haitian gods, and all of my princesses
Our condolences as you fightin’ against us
We’re right by your side, while we tryin’ to make sense of this
Heavenly father help us see through these problems
And for those that left, accept them into your garden
See here’s my theory, the country’s already starvin’
So we sacrifice many to shed light on all of them
God please pardon, I speak from my heart
It’s the only way I can see this tragedy befall on them
So let’s get involved with them, hand to hand with them
Arm to arm with them, till they get strong again
When the sky falls…
[Verse 2]
Learn from the past, New Orleans was flooded
So we know we just can’t rely on the government
We under the rubble again, here we go rumbling when
When we gon catch a break, my friend lost his mother and then
And then, Carline lost her uncles and them
Buried with no caskets, they just put covers on them
And the tears fall, and we fight back

You can lift you up
We will raise
Together all together “

Thanks for the lyrics, but the part that they sing in french it’s not :
”Tu peux te relever”
it’s
“tu vas te relever” I am 110% sure (I’m from quebec so french is my first language… no offense

Sak pase.. the first words are that. and RHi says Haiti a mi amor, Haiti mon amour

Terrible “song.” Rihanna cannot sing.
Peace to all the Haitians who have survived. I hope the money makes it to them and is not taken by corrupt government officials like “Papa Doc” and so many others, especially corrupt “charity” organisations.

Actually in Haitian Creole which I speak fluently it’s SAK PASE? Which is roughly translated to “What’s up?” like the Spanish “Que Paso”

[Reply]
I think the song is great! I believe Rihanna wouldn’t be famous is she couldnt sing. She probably could careless if you like the song or not. The song is for the people in Haiti.
