New Orleans has a new rapper in town. Following the trail of cash money from those that came before him, Dee-1 aims to build a movement of his own in his own way. Guided by the wisdom of Mannie Fresh, Dee-1 dropped his latest effort titled The Focus Tape. “My mission with this tape was to make a body of music that would motivate cats and inspire cats,” Dee told us during our interview.

Aside from talking about The Focus Tape, Dee-1 talked to KillerHipHop about learning from Mannie Fresh, leaving teaching for rap, what he looks for in a label, being slept on and more. Catch KillerHipHop’s interview with The One Man Army after the break.

We were lucky enough to sit down with Compton’s very own Kendrick Lamar after his performance at the BBC 1xtra live 2012 show in Brixton, London last month. Kendrick spoke about his debut Aftermath album Good Kid, m.A.A.d City, his favourite track on the album and his plans for the future. What you know about rockin’ a wolf on your noggin’? Not much? Don’t worry. If Macklemore has taught us anything, it’s that the best wolf heads are at the thrift shop. But moving on, KillerHipHop recently had the privilege of talking to Seattle’s Macklemore. You might recognize Mack’ from the XXL Freshmen list, most likely because he was on it. The Seattle rapper and his partner in rhyme recently dropped their highly anticipated freshmen album titled The Heist.

Beats By Dre exclusively invited KillerHipHop down to experience their #ShowYourColour event held in London’s Covent Garden. The event gave members of the public the opportunity to take pictures and win a chance to appear in the next Beats By Dre commercial. The winning photo’s will then be selected by Dr Dre himself.

KillerHipHop’s Hector took some photo’s, soaked up the atmosphere and even managed to grab a quick word from the Interscope and Beats By Dre founder Jimmy Iovine and the main man Dr Dre. Check it out above.

Event: Scholarich Success Showcase Presents Stalley Live In NYC

On December 6th, 2012, Scholarich Success Showcase would like to present the event of Stalley live in concert at Tammany Hall in New York City.

Stalley has partnered up with Scholarich to perform live in concert  in order to support Scholarich’s community service intiatives. This concert is also serving as a Book Drive in which attendees are asked to donate a book in exchange for a chance to get backstage VIP access to meet Stalley.

The books will be donated to local adolescent detention centers to promote literacy. A portion of proceeds from this concert will also be donated towards Scholaich Foundation which implements engaging co-curricular programs for JHS and HS students.
