1 Verse, 1 Hearse #3, Lil Wayne – It’s Good

August 26, 2011 · Posted in beef, reviews · 77 Comments

Wow. How do I begin to talk about this Lil Wayne verse on It’s Good. To be honest it’s legendary. I’m going to have to bring out the Maybach Bugatti hearse for this one. August 24, 2011 will forever be remembered as the day Lil’ Wayne dissed Jay-Z. I expect a full blown Lil’ Wayne Vs. Jay-Z beef to succeed this.

Now, if you’re familiar with me, you know that I do not support rap beefs at all. Although I’m hesitant, I am throwing all of my fuel into this Lil Wayne Vs. Jay-Z fire that is about to explode into the blogospehere once Jay responds. I’m reluctant to support this beef because last time Hip-Hop had a beef of this magnitude we lost two of the greatest. I hope this one turns out much better though. I don’t want any violence because Wayne is a small dude and although Jay is like 60 years old, he will still kick his ass. Seriously though, I hope this takes Hip-Hop into another level. I would tell you to what level, but I have to idea where we will end up. I just hope Hip-Hop ends up winning.

Stop playin, I aint with that bullshit
Niggas act like bitches. Shanaynay, oh my goodness
This is Wayne’s World, and y’all are just some tourists
Give me three wishes, I wish, I wish, I wish, you would bitch
Brand new p-ssy, p-ssy good as baby powder
Two glock 40′s, nigga you got 80 problems
Swimmin’ in the money, Imma need some f-ckin goggles
Its better to give, but we dont give a f-ck about ‘em
I just came home, shit then got real hoe
Lil Weezy-ana, the boot nigga, steal toe
I aint workin with a full deck but I deal hoe
I just touched down, kick the motherf-ckin field goal
Talkin ’bout baby money? I got your baby money
Kidnap your bitch, get that ‘how much you love your lady’ money
I know you fake nigga, press your brakes nigga
I’ll take you out, that’s a date nigga
Im a grown ass blood, stop playin with me
Play asshole and get an ass whippin’
I think you pussy cat ha, hello kitty
I just throw the alley-oop to Drake Griffin
I lay em down, tempur-pedic
This shits a game of chess, you niggas think its cleavage
Its young money, yeah ’tis the season
I give you the business, bitch this a business meeting
My niggas hungry, my bitches greedy
Will I die a bloody murder? Dear Mr. Ouija
Nigga, Im straight, my girl a faggot
Potato on the barrel, pop pop tater salad

“I’m Good” is the perfect undercover diss track of all time. On the cover it looks like a normal track off C4. But it’s far from your normal Hip Hop track.

Wayne gets Jadakiss, a notable NY rapper and former Roc-a-fella signee to open up the track. I found it very strange that Kiss was on Tha Carter 4, and that he was rapping on this Southern type of beat. He did a good job, but southern beats don’t go with Jadakiss. I don’t think Jadakiss knew what Wayne and Drake were going to do with this track either. His subject’s are out of sync from what Drake and Wayne are talking about. It is fair to say that Jadakiss was just used to entice the New York audience.

After Jadakiss finished, Drake Griffin Nash went in for the perfect assist. “Please pardon my brother, He’s just angry at you n*ggas/ who dont have your heart in your rap shit”, or in non-drizzy language, “Excuse what Wayne is going to say, he’s just being honest, and Jay-Z isn’t a rapper anymore he’s a businessman”. The foreshadowing on this is incredible. This Drake Nash assist deserves to be on SportsCenter tonight.

Tune then takes Nash’s assist and breaks the backboard. “Give me three wishes, I wish, I wish, I wish, you would b*tch”, or in non-Wayne language, “Jay Z I wish you would say my name on a diss record! You wouldn’t dare to say my name, c’mon say my name!”.

Then came the line heard around the world. “Talkin ’bout baby money?/ I got your baby money/ Kidnap your b*tch, get that ‘how much you love your lady’ money”. I was speechless, mouth open, eyes wide when I heard that line, that shit cray. Wayne also chooses to play Jay-Z’s subliminal game by not saying Jay’s name on the track. But, it is very obvious that he was responding to Jay Z’s line on H*A*M. “I’m like really half a billi n*gga, Really you got baby money, Keep it real with n*ggas, n*ggas aint got my lady money”. There is no question that Lil Wayne was dissing Jay-Z.

Honestly, I can’t find a hearse good enough for this verse. Wayne displayed an incredible amount of courage in dissing someone as legendary as Jay-Z. I never ever thought Wayne was going to reply to to Jay-Z. Especially after what Jay had said on “Mr. Carter”, “…I share Mic time with my heir Young Carter,/ go farther Go further, go harder /Is that not why we came? /And if not, then why bother?”. From that point forward I never thought I’d see a Lil Wayne-Jay Z beef. But that’s all in the past. Jay took a shot at Wayne, Wayne shot back, and now the beef is on. Lil Wayne’s quest to greatness now begins. In order to be considered one of the top 5 rappers of all time, Weezy will have to take down none other than Hov in a pound for pound, rap heavyweight fight.

The biggest verse of Wayne’s career undoubtedly deserves a ride on the KillerHipHop Hearse.

Y’all quit foaming at the mouth. This “beef” is nothing more than a marketing strategy. Lil Wayne is a con artist, he’s running a get-rich-quick scheme. He sells inferior lyrics and has the audacity to call himself the greatest of anything.

    I can’t wait for this!

  3. SavIIem on August 26th, 2011 1:34 am

I don’t know man, that shit Cray. I doubt it would escalate. but the only reason I think it might and i’m highly anticipating is drake and wayne are going to do their version of watch the throne, baby already said they’re the younger vs the older (kanye, jay)

Other than that? Wayne dont even have to drag in Drake, he’s gonna jump on it. Jay and Ye might both respond. Now what makes this even better… Wayne will get the YM jumpin on this without even asking. The Game never stopped trying to get at Jay. so he will be there too

wait a sec, that’s where my boi J Cole gets in. it looks like world war 3 by now yeah?

wait till Ye gets Pusha T and Cy Hi on it.

That shit is Aftermath Vs Murder Inc all over again

but Jay Z is smarter than giving them attention. I wish it would happen. Jay’s camp got more heavyweights to be honest.

  4. on August 26th, 2011 1:36 am

Hey Quez. Great write up once again!

I want to throw my 2 cents in….

Jadakiss has now come forth and said he want’s nothing to do with the beef. And it sounds like Drake doesn’t want to get involved too with his apology right before Wayne dropped the immortal line.

I don’t think this will start a major beef as it is not as personal as the Big/Pac beef or the Jay/Nas beef. I mean Jay didn’t leave any condoms in Weezy’s baby seat.

I think Wayne was very bold to say he’d kidnap Beyonce and hopefully this should entice Jay to respond. It would be funny if Beyonce replied instead. I would love to see a diss track from her. I mean Weezy was her Soldier back in his short hair days.

Wayne has a good relationship with Kanye and Jay with Drake so I don’t think there is major animosity. Probably just 2011 “rap beef” for hype. I mean they are both businessmen.

I wouldn’t say this is the biggest verse of Wayne’s career but certainly the most controversial.

Jigga, please respond, preferably on Watch The Throne 2 just in time for this Christmas. Thanks.

Let us know your thoughts and don’t forget to follow my boy Quez on Twitter.

    I agree with u.
I dont even think jays gonna respond to this. He said in 2009 after Blueprint 3 that he didnt want no problems with anybody (talking about Birdman comments on him °1MC on MTV list), these are his best years. Hes old now for a beef. He will come out with some wise words like “men lie women lie numbers dont” in my opinion.
I would love to hear a response from him though but i dont think hes going to do it.
I think Drake has been clear “heart in one place, mind in another”. He would has prefered to not get involved but he is now ,so hes ridin with Weezy.

Rap is the only music genre with so much competition, its like sports. I guess both know the rules of the game, so they know that “to be number 1 u gotta beat the number one”. Jay attacked for (maybe) the last time he could have done it with an album number 1 on billboard to stay on defense, Wayne responded. Lets see if the people is feeling Carter 4 now.

I think theyre both excited to play more than angry to each other.
If there would be a rap beef (i doubt it) is going to be a pure RAP beef.

  5. DJ Matty C on August 26th, 2011 1:43 am

Just a verse i thought of that i thought it would be cool if jay said :P

“When I speak of Carter’s, I ain’t talking of 1, 2, 3, or 4. Carter to me is half a billion or more.”

Referencing waynes 4 carters, and how it is nowhere near jay’s net of almost half a billion.

I dunno, just thought it would be awesome :)

  6. A.C on August 26th, 2011 1:44 am

I have to say that Wayne went HAM on Hov. Hov did a good punchline but Weezy did a better one. Mad respect for Wayne going in on Jay. I hope this will turn into a real beef. That could be fun!

  7. Gio on August 26th, 2011 2:07 am

lol this is getting good :D GO WEEZY!

  8. nike001 on August 26th, 2011 2:12 am

This shit is retarded. Wayne isn’t as…. ‘relevant’ as Jay. He talks about nothing and his verses are just punchlines. Hov at least speaks to the people.

Drake won’t have anything do to with this. Just like when one of his songs came out and people thought it was a HOV diss and drake tweeted “Hov diss? Hov of all people has not lost it…that’s god body flow.”

Plus a few days ago he tweeted a Jay line “sorry junior, i already ruined ya”

Drake said he got famous because of jay..and how he was study his lines. He has too much respect and owes too much to go at jay

  9. Martin Carniglia on August 26th, 2011 2:23 am

Great article Quez, props for it. As I told you in twitter I wouldn’t like em to take this beef to another level since I’d prefer these monsters to make another Mr. Carter than hearing a new ether from Weezy. One way or another, the entire track’s mined with disses, check this one “Two glock 40′s, nigga you got 80 problems” the 80 problems prolly refers to 99 Problems, 40 plus 40 is 80, now Jay’s club is 40/40 club, ain’t it? that’s twice 40. Wayne took the whole thing to another level getting Jada on the track and also (tho it prolly has nothing to do) including Nas in the album. Now I fucking wonder why did Jay Hova start the beef, as far as I’m concerned not him nor his label were dissed by Weezy, Stunna or any member of YMCMB. I wish someone could explain us where this all came from.

    [Reply] Reply:

@Martin – Birdman claimed him and Wayne make the most money. Stunna said:

“I don’t think [Jay-Z] is the number one emcee in no kind of way. Wayne’s the best. He do the most and he make the most money. I don’t think no n*gga in the business make more money than us. How can you be the best if you don’t make the most money? And you don’t do the most? Lyrically, come on man, be for real, can’t nobody f*ck with Wayne…if you number one and you ain’t getting no money it don’t mean nothing.”

This is what triggered Jay’s response on HAM.

    Martin Carniglia Reply:,
That confirms Birdman’s idiocy lol. I didn’t know about this so I’ll take out my words. Was it really necessary for Wayne to diss Hova knowing that Birdman took the first shot and made an unnecessary declaration?. Stunna pisses me off really bad.
Thanks for the info KillerHipHop, keep up the magnificent job.

If there are 2 things I hate from YMCMB those are Birdman’s idiocy/lack of lyrical skills and the 12-15 years old guys that they signed. I bet that Lil Twist wil have a future since he has a great voice and cool lyrics IMO but Lil Chukee and this newcomer named Torion? please Lord take those out from our world.

perhaps also partially a response to kanye’s response to drake on his first verse in otis with the stuntmen and other benz lines. drake probably would need all the help he can get if that gets started. Kanye+Jay vs. Weezy+Drake would be so epic…in that the G.O.O.D. ol’ Roc Boys would epically destroy little money. They’re way to multidimensional compared to the radio rappers.

  14. NuSense on August 26th, 2011 3:02 am

i dont get why people are sayin this will be good.. it wont even be close.. do you KNOW Jay-Z?.. hes been a battle rapper.. way before he blew up.. and you heard Takeover? [dooope].. Wayne’s ghost-writers couldnt match that with a hundred years practice.. Wayne will NEVER in his lifetime be considered a top 5 all time rap artist.. NEVER.. Jay needs to end him.. maybe Nas can get on a track and they can Ether him while they at it lol

  15. John on August 26th, 2011 3:29 am

i give props to wayne… goin at jay. but all in all i don’t think anyone else should jump in on this beef.. and don’t think anyone else will. i mean drake basically drools over jay no homo and idolizes him.. and he’s good friends with cole so he won’t get involved with jay nor cole. and i highly doubt ye will jump in because wayne and ye are good friends… all in all i think this should be a 1 on 1 weezy vs jay.

C’mon now simmer down a bit I really doubt this is gonna transform into a modern-day west coast Vs east coast type of shit…birdman made a statement jay replied & dissed Wayne in the process & weezy shot back & that’s it even Wayne said that he doesn’t intended on beefin with jay & he doubts jay is gonna respond & to me it looks more of a publicity stunt to get sale figures up like what game is tryna do BUT there is a small part of me that wants all this shit to happen cause it’s kinda what hiphop needs to dry itself from all the fake bullshit surfacing lately & if it does happen I don’t think it’s gonna be just a hov vs Wayne beef it’s gonna be YM vs Roc-a-fella plus game is just waitin for shit like that to spark so he can jump on the blood train as an excuse & don’t think that YM can’t hold its ground in beefing cause even if they seem kinda wack they’ve got one hella of a battle rapper that’s jae millz & believe me when it come to loading shots the guy is a pro but this is a far chance !!!! Funny thing is that I was waiting for a YM vs Shady shit to happen cause that shit will be a fuckin hip hop war

I both like Weezy and Jay, I rather think it’s sad what’s going on. But the thing that strikes me the most is that Drake said on ‘Fear’, “I never cried when Pac died, but I prolly will when Hov does”, and even tho he makes an apology on his verse like he don’t want nothing to do with it, I can’t believe he didn’t just tell weezy he don’t wanna be on the track. I believe this diss track was a nice one, and the HAM line was aight aswell, but it’s never as good as the music that would have been made with them working together now and then for the next few years until jay or wayne get’s outta the game.

“I’m reluctant to support this beef because last time Hip-Hop had a beef of this magnitude we lost two of the greatest.”

Really doubt that.. back then rappers were actually gangsters and not fake. We got a fake rapper who claims and raps about the usual hoes/guns/ all other stereotypical things you can think of that comes with rap, and we got Jay-Z who ain’t the best with handling beef when it comes down to it. If it does go down like how you think it will, i hope j.cole stops associating himself with young money artists (even though him and drake are friends) and we have some sorta record label war lol.. young money vs rocnation? would be so dope..

I can see why it would be dope, of course it would be cool to see the feud develop. But I’d rather see another Mr Carter, for real. You can’t deny that that was the shit and ain’t no diss track gon’ top that.

  30. Bo$co on August 26th, 2011 1:01 pm

I honestly don’t even think that Jigga line was a shot at Baby or Wayne. I think by baby money he meant tiny, small, infantile money compared to his. I don’t think he aimed it at anyone in particular, and I think Wayne knows he’s been on a steady decline since tha carter 3 (let’s be real, rebirth was a fucking disaster) and I think he needs Jay to respond to fuel his album sales.

Watch the throne is a superior album inside and out. I’m disappointed by TC IV.

Big ups to Jay, hope he either slaughters him, or comes forward exposing Wayne for the clown he is.

“I am a vegetarian man. I only eat beats, wear a lot of carats, and I smoke the best greens”
“I get money to kill time, dead clocks”

    So….let this manifest…
How many people are mentioning their time pieces and dead clocks? I seriously would LOVE to research how many people take his lyrics or are inspired to flow/sing/rap about the same things cause of Wayne influence in the industry…
I like Wayne cause hes clever ass fuck and its beats are insane, but I’d rather listen to Kanye or Jay any day…But that’s cause I like conviction & meaning in my music.
All I’m saying is that weezy is far from untalented, quit being ignorant. You guys kno the definition of ignorant………… right?

Dude, for a minute there i thought you were bashing Wayne. Those lines you quoted are exact proof as to why Wayne is an idiot. That’s the kind of shit a teenager would come up with. Not only is he killing hip hop but also the English language.

JDream Reply:, Actually it sounds as tho your one of the reasons hip hops “dead”, Matter of fact you like Wiz? 100 bucks that hes your top 5. Hip hops dead to the close minded, I hear poetry everyday…Hip Hop is evolved and is greater than ever, and means a great deal more. But you must not know, cause you listen to?

Wiz Khalifa?? No homie. My favorite and currently best rapper alive – Eminem. You mention poetry, as in a group of words that have meaning and rhyme. Waynes lyrics is nothing but nonsense and most of the time don’t rhyme. He’s on the same level as Soulja Boy. Now i bet $100 you like Wayne because you’re a teenage black kid.

Are we all sure jay’s line was even a shot at anyone in particular? Cud just be like

“you think you have baby money, but you couldnt even get at my ladys money”

    that’s what i been think’n

and this is not goin to escalate into a beef
jay wont bother to f**k up Lil wayne, cuz if jay wanted to, he’d abolish wayne

Wayne beating Jay doesn’t make him number 1…Em is still out there It would be great to have all 3 go in and see who is the real champ! Carter 4 keeps getting better the more I listen. Big fan of the game in general, cant wait to see what develops
